Rev. Eric Carroll
Senior Pastor
Eric, aka – Pastor E, is a man committed to living for Jesus and loving others as a testimony of his faith and love for Jesus. Eric is a pastor at heart and a business man in his secular career. Most recently, Eric served as the Pastor of Discipleship and Culture at Second Branch Baptist Church. Prior to that, Eric served as founder and Senior Pastor at The Ascension Church RVA. Pastor E loves to play golf, hang out with family, and most of all, tell people about Jesus. Eric and Jill have been married for 11 years and together they have 3 adult children, Alexa, Nico and Alexandra. Pastor E is prepared and excited to lead Tomahawk into this new season of life. Rev. Dennis Green
Executive Pastor
Pastor Dennis is married to the amazing Brenda (39+ years and counting) and considers himself to be very fortunate to have both adult children living very close by with their families, enjoying the weekly interaction and blessings the entire family brings but especially his grand-kids. He is bi-vocational, also owning and operating an automotive repair shop in town. Pastor Dennis loves to play golf and most recently picked up pickle-ball, and enjoys doing ministry alongside Pastor E! He has been trained and educated in the church revitalization field and enjoys helping churches and pastors get unstuck. He graduated from John Leland Institute for Theological Studies.

Laura Easton
ELT Chair
Laura is originally from Michigan, but calls Virginia home as she has lived here for over 30 years. Laura works full time as an RN at Chippenham Hospital in the Cardiac Cath Lab. She and her husband Jeff, have been happily married for 36+ years. They have been active members of TBC since moving to Chesterfield 3 decades ago. Laura spent many years leading children’s choirs and children’s musicals, accompanying the adult choir on the piano, and playing handbells. She currently serves on the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and is also a deacon. She and Jeff love hosting small groups in their home. Laura and Jeff raised their children at TBC and are now enjoying them as adults. They feel so blessed to have them all living close by as family is so important to them.

Gary Barr
ELT Member
Gary has been a follower of Christ for most of his life and has been attending TBC since 2023. He has been involved in the production team since that time and he has enjoyed working with Marla and the praise team as well as getting to know the people of TBC. He has served in many leadership capacities at his previous church and he is honored to now serve as a member of the ELT. He is excited to be a part of the TBC family and watch as God continues to grow us.

John Bateman

John Bateman grew up in Waynesboro, Virginia and moved to the Chesterfield area with his wife Melissa in 2011 to work as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney after graduating from University of Richmond School of Law. They began attending TBC Christmas Day 2011, and over the years since then John has served as a Deacon, a Sunday School and Small Group leader, Moderator of business meetings, and as a member of the Worship Team. John now serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and strives to best use our collective resources to make TBC a home where our people abide with Jesus and the community around us can be reconciled with each other and with God. John and Melissa have two sons who can regularly be seen running around TBC.

Taylor Day
ELT Member
Taylor was born and raised in Mechanicsville, VA. He moved to Midlothian in 2019 and joined his wife Mindy at TBC, who had been a longtime member. Taylor graduated from JMU in 2015 with a B.S. in Psychology and enjoyed playing rugby during his time there. A former project manager turned commercial underwriter, Taylor loves to figure out solutions to problems and work with teams. He currently serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and has a passion for Jesus, serving, and playing worship music. He wants his community to feel loved and welcomed, no matter where they’re from or at in life. In his spare time you might find him scouring for the latest fantasy football news, trying to make his newborn daughter laugh or enjoying time with his family scattered around the area.

Joe Savarie
ELT Member
Joe and his wife Patti have been attending TBC for close to 26 years. Joe has participated in many mission trips including family missions week, community missions days and trips to Fort Erie, Ontario. It was after a Mission trip to Fort Erie that Joe and Pat confirmed their faith and were baptized at TBC. Missions are where Joe and Pat’s heart is. Joe and Patti have also hosted small group in their home during Covid and continue to regularly attend small groups. Joe and Patti are both Registered nurses working for a local hospital system. They raised their three adult sons at Tomahawk and are lucky to have them all living locally in the Richmond area.

Stephanie Stewart

Born and raised in Chesterfield, VA, Stephanie Stewart has always been a part of the community she loves. She and her husband Tim, met during their college years as student athletes, beginning a journey that has now spanned over two decades. After starting their life together in Hampton, VA, they eventually returned to Chesterfield to raise their family. Stephanie and Tim have two wonderful children, Liam (18) and Skylar (16). Balancing her professional and personal life with grace, Stephanie holds a leadership position at Dominion Energy. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Stephanie’s dedication to her faith and community is unwavering. She is an active member of the Praise and Worship Team and participates in the Women’s small group, continuously nurturing her spiritual growth. In her spare time, Stephanie can often be found cheering for Liam on the baseball field, helping Skylar master the art of driving, or enjoying quality moments with her family.

Mindy Day
Children's Director
Mindy Day, is the new Children’s Director of Tomahawk Baptist Church. Mindy graduated from James Madison University with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, and has been working as a Head Start teacher for 12 years. Her favorite things to do are to spend time with her baby girl, McKenna, sing and listen to music, and go to the beach. She looks forward to helping connect children into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through fun learning experiences and building relationships with the children and families of TBC.

Marla Joseph
Music and Worship Leader
Marla Joseph is the new Worship Leader here at Tomahawk Baptist Church. She is a lover of all things music and has been since childhood. Growing up in a household where there was always music playing how could I not? She has served several churches over the years in the capacity of Worship Leader and she feels joy to be able to pursue that passion with others while chasing after Jesus! Her goal is to continue to help grow our Music and Media Ministry (young and more seasoned individuals) to be a blessing to all!

Karen Cook
Church Administrator
Karen Cook has a wealth of experience in marketing, graphic design, E-commerce and web content management, in addition to event planning and providing leadership for office and administrative management. She has attended University of Richmond and has further received training as a Certified Webmaster and also attended George Mason University. Karen has great people skills and the warmth of ministry relationships having served on staff at the Chester Presbyterian Church and Hatcher Baptist Church.

Becky Holbert
Volunteer
Becky Holbert has been a volunteer for TBC for over 6 years. She works in the church office and assists with managing the food pantry. Becky has donated her time and talents for countless projects and events. If TBC needs help – Becky is always there with a smile on her face!
